New Services: Media Transfer to digital formats.

Spa Sounds can now transfer your old tapes, cassettes, records, reel to reel tapes to CDs. Not only CDs but any other digital format such as MP3, iPlayer, FLAC, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, PCMs. We can put them onto memory sticks, CD cards, Cds (most commonly) or DVDs. It doesn't matter whether its music, speech or data. So go and dig out all those wedding, anniversary or special occasion tapes, favourite records that you can no longer play, send them to Spa Sounds and we'll send them back to you - probably sounding better than the original - on a CD or whatever format you choose.

We will split the CD into tracks for easy searching and provide artwork so that your new Cd will be an enjoyable container for your memories!

Spa Sounds have a new facility for converting reel to reel open tapes, cassette tapes, or records to CDs, MP3s or virtually any other digital format. As well as the popular 1 7/8, 3 3/4, 71/2 and 15 inch per second tape speeds, we can handle any tape speed from 15/16 inches per second to 60 inches per second, mono stereo, 1 to 4 track - 1/4" tape.

We can handle all record speeds and sizes 33 1/3 rpm, 45 rpm, 78 rpm and even 16rpm transcription discs as well as any "odd" speeds.

Although cassette tapes are generally recorded at 1 7/8 ips, some special decks recorded at twice this speed for better quality and also half speed for longer recording time (Nakamichi for instance) - we can handle all these speeds.

Noise reduction techniques are applied as a matter of course. Other edits can also be applied such as tone correction, speed change, change the order of tracks mix with more recent voice-over - just tell us what you want - we can do it!

The final CD will normally be split into tracks for easy reference and we will generate artwork for the CD and case. This might incorporate pictures or other material that you supply.

Spa Sounds was founded for the express purpose of recording classical musicians: Choirs, Orchestras, soloists, small ensembles etc. We recognise that the techniques required for classical recordings differ quite markedly from those used for recording popular music.

We have been involved in making music for many years and understand the needs of musicians to raise their profile through recording, to use recorded music for fundraising, and above all to enjoy their music and the experience or both performance and recording.

Spa Sounds provides a professional, friendly and cost effective service we work with the musician to produce the perfect sound. We travel to all parts of the country to record performances and session recordings.
